Frischer Wind im Coco Loco
For many years Maik and his wife Jana ran the restaurant El Coco Loco on La Gomera and they made it to a popular meeting place for tourists and locals alike. From the very beginning, El Coco Loco stood for fresh, good plain and varied food in the beautiful holiday resort Valle Gran Rey.
Since April 2019 Karsten Kolax and his team have taken over the restaurant El Coco Loco, as Maik and Jana have returned to Germany to take on a new challenge. For more than 10 years Karsten has successfully managed the famously infamous Bodegita Bar at the Babybeach and he also wants to take on a new challenge by taking over the Coco Loco in Valle Gran Rey.
That it will not be easy was clear from the beginning, as many guests have very clear expectations of the Coco Loco - good food, good prices and good service. But after the first 6 months it was clear relatively quickly that Karsten was up to the task and that he had made a good (culinary) name for himself in the village relatively quickly.

The concept has not really changed much and the menu has only been slightly adapted, so that the popular classics such as the grill plate with homemade chips and barbecue sauce, fried goat cheese with palm honey or the 350 gram steak with mushroom cream sauce will continue to be on the menu in the future.

Especially in the high season and during holiday periods we recommend early reservation, as especially the outdoor seats on the terrace are very popular with our guests.
